Castleknock Community College (CCC), Fingal County Council, and IndeCare were delighted to have Minister Joan Burton TD in CCC recently to launch the 2012 Third Age Anthology Competition in Castleknock Community College. This competition encourages our Third Age Generation to share their knowledge, wisdom, and personal stories by submitting a photo or literary piece to the judging panel, with all entries to be compiled into a beautifully published book. Opening early December 2011, with a closing date for all entries of 5pm on Friday 3rd February 2012, the winning entries will be announced on Grandparents Day in School (GDS) in Castleknock Community College on Friday March 16, 2012.
The GAA Oral History Project aims to record the fullest possible picture of what the GAA has meant to the Irish people, in their own words. They want to hear your stories. They need your help to tell the story of your club and county. We here at the Mayo Education Centre feel that this would be a wonderful intergenerational activity to do in your school. The Project will gather people’s stories in many interesting ways.
